Safety Culture
We are bringing together different facets of the aviation industry in order to promote a safer culture. Every one has something to contribute and offer. Only through coming together can we share this information.
Appreciation
We are constantly interacting with many different agencies, entities, and organizations. Often without more than a simple thank you in passing. In an attempt to show our appreciation throughout the years, we welcome you to our house.
Service
The Tradition of Service that the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is committed to extends to all units. Aero Bureau is no different. It is filled with personnel that love what they do, hold themselves to the highest standard, and provide that service to the residents of Los Angeles County.
LASD Aero Bureau
LASD Aero Bureau has its origins in 1926 as the Sheriff’s Aero Squadron under Sheriff William Traeger. In 1933, it became Sheriff’s Aero Detail under Sheriff Eugene Biscailuz. By 1955, the Department had acquired its first helicopter, a Bell 47G. Today, under Sheriff Luna, LASD Aero Bureau flies 15 AStars (AS350B2), 2 Super Pumas (AS332 L1), 2 Cessna Centurions (C210), and 1 King Air (B200).
